Mit dem Konzept der »Bergwaldoffensive « ist ein neuer Ansatz gelungen, der die Brücke zwischen naturnaher Bergwaldbewirtschaftung und Schutzwaldsanierung schlagen soll. Nach dem Grundsatz »Vorbeugen statt Sanieren« soll negativen Entwicklungen im Privatwald frühzeitig entgegengewirkt werden. Erfolgsfaktoren auf dem Weg hin zu zukunftsfähigen Bergwäldern sind dabei die Freiwilligkeit nach dem Prinzip »Fördern und Fordern«, der Einsatz von
Projektmanagern, flexible Unterstützungsmöglichkeiten und eine breite gesellschaftliche Beteiligung in den
Bergwaldforen.

The concept »Bergwaldoffensive/mountain forest offensive« has developed as a successful attempt to build a bridge between ordinary mountain forest management and redevelopment of protected forest. According to the principle of »prevent instead of redevelop« negative development in private forests should early be acted against. Factors of success on the way to mountain forests with prospects for the future are voluntary participation at
the principle of »support and demand«, the commitment of project managers, flexible support opportunities
and a broad social participation in mountain forest round tables.
