- AbstractFor a timber prognosis, taking assortment growth in consideration, one has to interpret the growth of the individual trees of a stand as a growth-conformes displacement of single stem (Form = taper) curves, thereupon the single tree growth must be dynamicaly assorted. Equi-form and affinite growth of single stem forms are particulary studied in this context. For equi-form (=similar) growth the similarity differential equation of the first oder is used as the description modell (picture 1, 2, 9b) and formulae (1.1.1), (1.2.1) trough (1.2.3)). When dynamics equations for diameter and hieght development exist, an affinite stem form equation would be preferable. Main features of such an equation can be gathered from picture 8 an 9a, formulae (2.2.1) trough (2.2.3). Both methods could also be used to extrapolate stand volume (seecomment underneath (1.2.1).
