Quality control measures should be established to ensure that treatments are carried out according to the recommendation and to ensure that treatments are producing the desired results. It is necessary to adequately document the treatments and associate them with the physical location in the forest. Quality control and monitoring can be attained through a) the traditional experiment in which there is a treatment and control group - this option is mainly for treatments where the results may be difficult to assess, for example, fertilization -, b) through the use of permanent sampling design. This would be used to assess treatment effects where the effects are not localized such as in the case of wildlife management.
