The study of the dynamics and development characteristic of fir-tree in selection forests on Goc showed that a stage of stagnation is characteristic for the development of this species. The length of the period in selection forests on Goc ranges between 50 and 330 years. The period of 330 years is, based on availeble references, the longest so-far recorded stagnation period in fir-trees. The development of fir-trees in the post-stagnation period is largely depedent, especially height and volums development, on the lenght of the stage of stagnation and the attauned values of the analyzed taxation elements in the stage of stagnation. Similar maximum lenghts of the stages of stagnation both at the best and at the worst sites for fir development, shows that site conditions have almost no impact on the lenght of the stage of fir-tree stagnation.
