The morphological characteristics of Calliciopsis pinea and Caliciopsis nigra and the damages caused by these fungi in Tuscany are described. Caliciopsis pinea produces fusiform cankers on the branches of Pinus pinaster and branch twisting. Caliciopsis nigra, which colonizes Juniperus communis and Juniperus oxycedrus, is often associated with galls on the branches and stems which causes deformations and the death of twigs.
