- AbstractTwo anamorphic fungi were found associated with leaf anthracnose on Betula pendula and Betula pubescens in Finland. These fungi can be distinguished from each other by differences in the appearance of leaf lesions, and the size of conidia. Both fungi seem to be pathogenic, since the first lesions appear on fully green leaves in July or August. The fungi evidently belong to the form genera of Asteroma and Gloeosporium. This study presents some preliminary observations on these fungi, and discusses their possible teleomorphic forms.
