The work (record) deals with the phenomenon of forest damage in Slovenia as to the method and contents of the issue. The research is carried out according to the obligatory ECE terrestrial manner adapted to Slovene natural, forest managing and economic conditions. The results are presented absolutely and comparatively (in accordance with trends). We always try to find our place in all surroundings, especially in those we feel preference for. The results are given in tables and in graphs. The work is full of critical attitudes towards the future work. Efforts have been made to define the phenomenon of forest damage from the point of view of terminology, notions, interpretation, cause and effect, time, intensity, dynamics, consequences and contents. We wish a better tomorrow for the forest. A detailed historical account of the work performed in Slovenia in this professional branch is preceded to this aaccount in order enable a better understanding of this material.
