This research report gives a comprehensive overview of long term trends in non-industrial and industrial supply and demand for wood, and factors affecting them. It also provides implications for sustainable forest management arising from this perspective. The report is the final result of the project "Long-term Trends and Prospects in World Supply and Demand for Wood and Implications for Sustainable Forest Management" by the European Forest Institute and the Norwegian Forest Research Institute at the request of the Government of Norway as an interessional activity of the Intergovernmental Panel on Forests (IPF).
