The overwintering state of Cylindrosporium juglandis Wolf, causal agent of a leaf spot disease of Juglans nigra L. and J. regia L. ist a Mycosphaerella. In this article the fungus is described as a new species, M. juglandis. Three to six-month-old walnut seedlings grown from locally collected seed were inoculated by spraying their foliage with conidial suspensions obtained from conidiomata produced on oatmeal agar plate cultures.
