The availability of wood and biomass resources has become an increasingly important issue in the recent years both nationally and at a European scale. Therefore reliable data and information about the amount of wood and biomass available on a sustainable level are essential to develop strategies that take into account the multiple forest functions including: economic use, nature conservation and protection, and recreation.
