Pollen analysis has been carried out on 25 samples of a 6m core from Lake Langeno (Ethopia) . The core is composed of laminated and homogeneous non-laminated portions. The pollen diagrams show three distinctive phases coresponding to variations in the percentages of the major taxa. In particular, they have indicated the presence of a humid episode around 2000 BP corresponding to a maximum in the percentages of Podocarpus a high total carvon content and a palynofacies dominated by an amorphous organic matter, all within laminated sediments. The topmost samples estimated around 800 BP show a high percentage of Juniperus.
