The values recorded for the total amount of dry matter assimilated by forest stands per annum and hectare, differ differences caused by macroclimatic conditions. The value decrease progressively with the distance from the Equator, ranging from 100-200 tons in the tropical rain forest to 1,7 - 3,3 tons in the health forest of Lapland. On the other hand, the percentage of wood shich can actually be harvested out of the total amount of dry matter produced ba the forest, is about 7% in a tropical rain forest and reaches about 40% in a health forest of the boreal zone, if the forest are under careful silvisultural treatzone, if the forests are under careful silvicultural treatment.
