On a managed and an abandoned meadow in a montane region (Kaserstattalm/Central Alps, Tyrol) abundance, biomass and trophic position of dominant macrofauna species and groups were investigated. L. rubellus serves as key species of the decompose food web, he is supported by D. octaedra, C. fulviceps, C. meinerti and various diptera larvae on abandoned sites. E nanus serves as intermediary between primary and secondary decomposers, who are represented by O. lacteum and A rosea.
