Abstract
Grand fir (Abies grandis) is an introduced species in Germany, which is of interest to wood product industries because of its fast growth. To characterize wood and composed wood products of this species, FTIR-ATR spectra were recorded and the chemical constituents of the wood samples were analyzed. By cluster analysis of the collected FTIR-ATR spectra, it was possible to distinguish between different types of cellulose and lignin.
