In the Belianske Tatry Mts/Czechoslovakia/, there ist damaged from 18.5 to 29.4 percent of the total gigh mountain area above a timberline owing to such ground destruction processes as soil erosion, gravitational- and cryopedological processes, mostly on limestones, dolomites and other carbonate bedrocks. Intensity of rock-wall decreasing, further gravitational /slide-/ movements of gravel in the narrow rock-stream natural formations on steep slopes, as well as absolute data and annual amplitudes of soil layers heaving caused by regelation processes /freeing and thawing/ and transport of fine-grain soil particles due to needle-ice /"pipkrake"/ were investigated. In this paper some quantitative data concerning those processes are reported.
