Abstract
A "single tree distance dependent" model was used to simulate juvenile grand fir, Douglas-fir, and ponderosa pine. Simulated experiments using the model were conducted to examine, on a theoretical basis, the effects of Douglase-fir tussock moth defoiation on stand dynamics during the first 40 years of stand development. The results are summatized in the form of stand dynamica. Results indicate that the insect can redistribute growth relationships to the advantage of non-hosts.
