As of 2004, the structures in "Österreichische Bundesforste AG" (Austrian national forest enterprise) were changed once again. Larger teritorial units were established and together with the empolyees, enterprise strategies were worked out or further developed to achieve the greatest possible personal identification with enterprise objectives. Wood flow management was implemented to provide as precisely as possible, information on material flows within the company. The aim is accurate day-by-day monitoring. For the time being the latest objective in this sector is to direct timber haulage via satellite navigation. This tool is still in the testing phase. Further optimizing timber harvest, both in a technical and ecological sense, remains an important objective. Refined coordination of the individual uses in also a focal point. A delivery management project has been launched and should be concluded by this year's end. Even though the Austrian national forest enterprises have already implemented essential process orientation objectives, such a complex mission can never be considered as entirely concluded.
