The research project "Hunting roe deer without shooting plan in Bavaria" has been running for three years now. Meanwhile we have intermediate results and can state, that hunters and landowners are up for a close cooperation - to the benefit of the forest and the wild animals. This can be proved by the actual Bavarian expertise based on a browsing inventory. In the six preserving communities of our research project the cases of deer-damaged wood are regressive. Now the proejct will be continued and enlarged: For the next three years we will keep watch on about 40 preserving communities. Beside forstal visitations (hunters and landowners in common) the expertise of forestal juvenescene remains one of the most important instruments of efficiency review in the years to come. If the project "Hunting roe deer without shooting plan" makes further progress, it can be a significant factor for an amendment of German federal hunting law.
