We performed phytosociological research in the Nature reserve Ostra skala within Slovensky raj National park. This was the third observation on six plots originally established in 1967 by A. Zlatnik. The 6,66 ha of wilderness area provides sufficient means for research. We performed ecological analysis on the plant communities using direct and indirect gradient analysis. We attempted to explain relative change of herb layer species occurrence under fixed conditions. However, many questions about the dynamics of particular communities remain open.
