For more exact investigation about tornadoes and down-bursts - to which intensity distributions also belong too - the estimation of intensity of an accurat great number of events is a condition. By the TORRO-Scale, based on the Fujita-Scale, well adjusted on the condition of middle Europe, this is possible in the case of damages to buildings. Neither in the case of the Fujita-Scale nor in the case of the TORRO-Scale damages to woody plants there is no exact estimation of intensity possible until now. Because of worldwide comparable stability of woody plants by great variation within the same species they will be fundamentally suitable to make distinctions about stormintensities. For this assessment the types of storm damage and the parameter, which describe the resistance of trees, respectivly forests against the power of wind must be consulted. This investigation is based on several own case studies, added by case studies and investigations about tree-statics of other autors. As the result of this investigation, a table of defined storm-damage-intensities to trees and stands, based on the TORRO-Scale, is presented.
