- AbstractNeedle/leaf analysis and crown condition assessment are done on 8.7 by 8.7 km grid annual in Austria since 1989. Soil analysis has been carried out once on all sample plots of the national grid. The crown condition data show a decrease of needle/leaf loss over the last years. Out of the data derived from soil analysis an impact of lead can be assumed as well as a anthropogenic acidification on some sample plots. The data of needle analysis show an exceedance of the national used thresholds for sulphur on some sample plots which might be caused by immissions. Combining crown condition soil chemistry ans needle chemistry results into some statistically significant correlations, but interpretation is difficult.
