In order to determine the effect of acid rain on microorganisms in soil we have applied different methods and techniques to estimate the numbers of microbial groups and their different activities. The activity can serve as a useful tool for determination of microbial biomass and general activity. In addition, the specific appearance or disappearance of different taxonomic groups was studied.
