In the pine stands growing under the influence of industrial emissions a decline of the growth in height with a part of trees is observed. Intensity of the process is the greater the older is the stand. It was proved in the Olkusz chief forestry that on the average in the 80-year old stands all the trees stopped their growth in height. It can be expected in all probability that in the case when emissions will not be checked on this area this age will be considerably lowered. That is why the realization of the goal which was as up to now the production of timber in this area of Poland is brought in question.
