Immissions influence all organisms of an ecosystem in direct or indirect way. Despite many informations about effects on forest trees and microorganisms there are still gaps of knowledge regarding the interacting processes in a forest ecosystem under immission deposition. On basis of some examples the influence of pollutants on the fungal flora of soil, roots and stems of trees is discussed. It is evident that multidisciplinary research is needed urgently in future. Principally all processes in forest ecosystems under impact of air pollution are not separate events. They evolve and interact with each other under the prevailing environment.
