Abstract
About one hundred different geographic sources of eastern white pine from Canada and the United States were studied for twenty-five years in three Maryland plantations. Results from this long-term study are discussed in respect to diversity in germination, seed coats, cotyledons, seed weights, terminal bud formation, leaf-lengths, foliage color, survival, heights, diameters, susceptibility to ozone and sulfur dioxide, white pine blister rust, white pine weevil, and cambial electric conductivity. Included are some date from plantations in other states and from outside the United States.
