After three and a half years of careful preparation, the FFCS (Finnish Forest Certification System) has entered into force. The first regional certificates were awarded to Finnish forests at the end of 1999. The first statement of origin for the wood chain conforming to the FFCS was approved in May 2000. Finnish companies will begin to use the PEFC logo for products made of wood from certified forests in the fall of the year 2000.
