Abstract
The problems of in vitro cultivation in hybrid fir are treated in this study. In 1988 and 1989 buds were collected from three older individuals (17, 18-year-old) growing in the trial area, including an intraspecific hybrid of Abies alba, an intraspecific hybrid of Abies cephalonica (pollen irradiated by (Formel) at a rate of 1000 rtg) and an open pollinated control individual of Abies alba. In 1989 further buds were collected from a grafting produced from a mature 24-year-old spontaneous growing in the trial area, including an intraspecific hybrid of Abies alba, an intrahybrid (Abies cephalonica x Abies cilicica) from autogamous 6-year old progenies of this hybrid, and from 6-year-old plants of Abies alba. Medium, supporting the flushing of the buds into shoots, was defined. No rooting has as yet been achieved. The age of the donor plant, its genotype and physiological state were observed to influence the growth and vitality of the explant in cultivating in vitro. The qualities of the F2 donor - progenies of a spontagenous hybrid were the best; they will be used for further research in the problems of in vitro cultivation of fir.
