The paper deals with investigation data on the contamination an state of the 10-11-year old pine plantations in the polluted zone near a factory of nitric fertilizers. While visnally assessing the state of young pines not only defoliation but also the following changes in the crown should be allowed for: the forming of three needles and many shoots, the growing of adolitional needles, the curvature of shoots.
