The investigation is intended to verify the applicability of Algan's, Schaeffer's and Cokl's tariff curves for computing current annual increment in forest stands, within the tariff difference method. Accordingly, the static or dynamic nature of these tariffs is determined by means of comparisons with dynamic volume curves obtained with two different methodological approaches. The formes implies the use of yield tables, by which a dynamic height curve and consequently a volume curve are drawn; the latter is based upon experimental data collected in even-aged (of different age) and in uneven-aged stands. As a result, Algan's fast tariff curves are usually found to be close to the dynamic volume curves, especially in high and medium site-quality stands (except for Larix decidua stands). Therefore, they are considered more suitable to determine current annual increment in forest stands, if used within the tariff difference method.
