For the greater part, the German foresters who worked in south-east Asia and displayed outstanding pinoeer performance in such areas as organizing various forest administration offices, founding research and educational facilities are only known by name. As of yet, little is known of their life in the foreign colonies and their fate following World War I. One of our duties should be, to provide today's generation with substantial information covering the acievements and lives of those forgotten pioneering foresters.
