In the years 1979-1984 investigations were carried out onchanges in the herb layer biomass of a mixed pine-oak forest under the influen ce of varied doses of NPK and dolomite. The biomass of grasses showed a marked increment, as did, in a lower degree, the biomass of the remaining herb layer plants, except for the dominant species, Vaccinium myrtillus, whose biomass decreased in consequence of the experimental treatment.
