In this paper the new data on heavy metals soil load are presented. Research was carried out in 3 different forest communities of silver fir at the area of "Risnjak" Nationalpark. 12 trial plots were defined. By microsite method on the all plots the acidification degree and the content of Pb, Zn and Cu were determined. Our results confirmed the results of Glavac, Koenis and Prpic, 1985 and Raus and Vukelic, 1988 who found that the degree of soil heavy metals load is correlated with the height above sea level and elevation.
