- AbstractFor the protection of young broadleave stands rodents are controlled by baits containing zinc phosphide and chlorphacinon. These baits can be harmful to non target species. The article assumes the information about the risk of primary and secondary poissoning of birds. The affinity of chlorphacinon to the bird liver is much lower than to the rodent liver. For birds the dose for reaching the oral LD50 is much higher than for voles. Zinc phoshide baits are acute oral toxic but there shape is less attractive for birds. To reduce non target species poissoning some savety instructions are given.
