The deficent economic of forestry led to increased efforts of rationalization. But they have not yet caused a discussion about the goals forestry. - Therefore it seems very dubious, whether these efforts will be sufficient in order to improve the economic results, there is a necessity th change the aims of forestry partly. This should be to graduate the intensity of forestry, including even the shut down of certain inprofitable areas.
