- AbstractIn order to manifest recent change of growth of fir and spruce caused by factors oother than age and climate, a dendroecological approach is applied. For fir a growth since 1983 was proven which both occurred independent of climate conditions. On the other hand, growth of spruce trees from high altitude sites decreased only as of 1970 bus also independent of climate, whereas the spruce trees from lower altitude did not how any factor is considered being responsible for the decline. The reason for the recovery of fir is still open to debate.
