- AbstractIt seemed interesting tying to find an indication of the assortments obtainable from bark pine (Pinus nigra Arn.) crop in Tuscany, and working procedure for the construction of an assortment yield table has been suggested. The table is referred to the main crop and it has been worked out on the basis of the data of Bernetii's yield table (1969). Together with the volume over bark this new table reports both the volume under bark and the volume subdivided into two dimensional categories: thick volumes (>20 cm) and thim volumes (<20 cm), with their mean annual increments. The bark percent and the bole percent (barked bole with D>20 cm) have been found on the basis of 1.30 m diameter by taking 134 sample trees. The obtained relations (1) and (2) have been applied to 118 sample areas and the results have been the bark slash percent, the barked bole utilization percent, the thin assortments utilization percent and the overall losses percent (bark + thin assortments). The equations relative to bark slash (3), to the yield of barked boles (4), to the yield of thin assortments (5) and to the overall losses (6) have been obtained by compensation, on the basis of the sample area mean diameter. The resulting coefficients have been applied to the main crop of the black pine yield table (Bernetti, 1969). Only the (3) and the (4) have been used, thus obtaining the bark volume and the boles volume, while thin volumes have been calculated by difference. The assortment yield table has been obtained without any further compensation, and provided with mean annual increments.
