- AbstractStudies carried out in the years 1981-1984 in forests of the Forest Research Institute in Sekocin and in forest districts Kartuzy and Suprasl showed that the larger pine-shoot beetle (Tomicus piniperda L.) can have sister's generations. Repeated biting of femals into the wood has been proved by comparison of new colonizations with the presence in the pine crowns of beetles carrying on the regeneration eating. In the investigated stands, the number of colonization of sister's generations amounted to 16.6-25.5% of the main generation, and the number of young beetles leaving the breeding grounds amounted to 27.6-124.6% of the main generation. The flight of beetles of the sister's generation took place before the 1st September, what rendered them possible to make the after-eating before the winter.
