Abstract
Investigations on the weed control in nurseries with Scots pine werde conducted in the years 1984-1985. In the sowing sections following herbicides were applied: Betanal, Fusilade and Velpar, and in sections with 2-year-old plants: Gesaprim (Gesaprim was used for comparison). The author studied the state of overgrowing with weeds and the influence of the weed control on the biometric features of plants. Moreover, chemical analyses of pine needles were made. In sowing section with pine, the best effect of control of monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds was obtained after the application of Velpar in doses 0.2-0.3 kg/ha; in control of dicotyledonous weeds - after application of Betanal 4 l/ha and in monocotyledonous weeds - after Fusilade 2-4 l/ha. The weed control with Velpar and Betanal influenced positively the biometric features of pine seedlings. In sections with 2-year- old plants, the weeds were most efficaciously controlled with Velpar and Gesaprim as well as with the mixture of Fusilade with Gesaprim, and the biometric features of plants were most favourable influenced by the weed control with Velpar and the mixture of Fusilade and Gesaprim. Increased content of nitrogen in needles was stated after the application of Gesaprim and Velpar, that of potassium and calcium - after application of all herbicides, whereas in the content of phosphorus and magnesium no clear results were obtained.
