The Dürnbach in Neukirchen am Großvenediger in the Oberpinzgau in the province of Salzburg, Austria is one of the experiment watershed areas of the institute for torrent and avalanche control at the Federal Forest Research Organisation (FBVA) in Vienna. Following technical data habe been experimation resp. slope movement, erosion, bed load formation and bed load transport and questitions regarding control techniques were investigated. Reasons for these investigations are to improve general bases for projects and planning of danger zones as well as to find out most efficient combinations regarding control techniques were investigated.
