Abstract
A galling of Schinus terebinthifolius (Brazilian pepper-tree) was shown to be caused by Sphaeropsis tumefaciens, a wound invader. Inoculum grown on steamed host stems produced more macroconidia and resulted in more successful inoculations than inoculum grown on potato-dextrose agar.
