- AbstractFor years measurements of runoff from an alpine watershed of 0,325 sqkm in the altitude between 2.330 m and 2.735 m above sea level show the determining effect of snowmelt on the flow regime. On axxount of high permeability of the soil surface and of abviously existing leakiness of the bedrock only about half of the precipitation water reaches the channel upstream the gaging site, the runoff rate climbing up to 58 % until the end of snowmelt and dropping back to 50 % alterwards. Differences in the time of snowmelt of up to 8 weeks do not cause and change in these annual figures.
