Sediment yield produced by frequent surface slides on the mountain slopes of granitic rocks become as dangerous as those produced by gigantic landlides of large scale slope failures, because of the high frequency of occurrence in a basin in spite of ther dimensions. After the investigation of the yearly fluctuation of the number of occurrences by the interpretation of aerial photographs, the author has recongnized that the occurence of surface slides in the future could be estimated by the Weibull Distribution Function. In this paper, the results of prediction of the occurences of surface slides using this function are presented where the hazardous zones shich will suffer from the sediment disaster are indicated on the topographical maps.
