To assess the effects of seedling spacing on seedling morphology and physiology, one-year-old seedlings of Robinia pseudoacacia were grown at four different seed bed density (3, 6, 9, 12 cm) on seed bed and four different spacing between rows (40, 60, 80, 100 cm) on nursery field. Seedlings were produced in different seed bed densities and they planted in Eskisehir-Kirka plantation area to assess the effects of seedling spacing on survival and growth. Seed bed density affected morphological and physiological characteristics of one-year-old seedlings. Lower seed bed density produced larger seedlings. Planted 1+0 seedlings produced with 3 and 40 cm spacing were statistically shorter about 20 cm than the others at the end of the third year. But 20 cm difference is very small amount and it is negligible in practice. Seed bed density had no effect on survival at the end of the third year. For this reason, the results indicated that seedlings could be produced with 138 seedlings/qm density in nurseries.
