The paper deals with the distribution of wood-destroying Basidiomycetes on the pear and the walnut tree on the territory of Moravia and Silesia. The core of the study are the hosts and their infestation caused by the complex of wood-destroying Basidiomycetes. The author describes the degree of infestation in the individual areas of Moravia and Silesia, as far as he obtained material from those areas, and he further studies the degree of infestation according to the individual age classes of the trees. He analyses in detail the degree of infestatin of the stem and of the crown and their individual parts. He pays special attention to the importance of frost- plates on the stem with respect to the infestation by wood-destroying Basidiomycetes.
