Hochwertiges Forstvermehrungsgut im Klimawandel: Symposium des Verbundprojektes FitForClim vom 14. bis 15. Juni 2016 in Chorin ; 16 (2017) , 5-12

Das Verbundvorhaben „FitForClim“ schafft die Grundlagen für eine nachhaltige Versorgung mit hochwertigem Forstvermehrungsgut, welches durch hohe genetische Vielfalt unter den Bedingungen des Klimawandels ein produktives Wachstum in stabilen und anpassungsfähigen Beständen ermöglicht. Im Fokus von „FitForClim“ stehen die Baumarten Gemeine Fichte, Douglasie, Wald-Kiefer, Europäische Lärche, Japanische Lärche, Stiel-Eiche, Trauben-Eiche und Berg-Ahorn. Neben der Steigerung der Wuchsleistung verbunden mit erhöhter Kohlenstoffbindung wird auch eine Qualitätssteigerung verfolgt. Eine länderübergreifende, bundesweite Zusammenarbeit begünstigt eine Arbeits- und Aufgabenteilung sowie die Standardisierung von Methoden. Auf Basis der gemeinschaftlichen Auswertung langjähriger Versuchsflächen werden Verwendungszonen für Forstvermehrungsgut ausgewiesen.

With the “FitForClim” joint project the foundation is laid for a sustainable supply of high quality forest reproductive material. The high genetic diversity of this material will make productive growth in stable and adaptive stands possible, even under changing climate conditions. The “FitForClim” project focuses on the tree species Norway spruce, Douglas fir, Scots pine, European larch, Japanese larch, pendunculate oak, sessile oak and sycamore maple, with the goal of increasing growth (and the associated carbon sequestration), while at the same time improving quality. A collaborative approach, spanning German federal borders, facilitates the allocation of tasks and the standardization of methodology. On the basis of a joint analysis of long-term experimental plots, seed deployment zones for forest reproductive material will be designated.
