This International Standard specifies a method for the measurement of the electrical conductivity of all types of water. Electrical conductivity can be used to monitor the quality of a) surface waters; b) process waters in water supply and treatment plant; c) waste waters. The completeness of analysis for ionic constituents (1 to 3) can be checked using this method. In some cases absolute values are important, in other cases only relative changes are of concern.
