Abstract
The operational and statistical aspects of an pilot survey, made in Karnataka, India, was demonstrated. The objective of the project demonstrated here, was the development of a methodology for a practicable, statistically accurate, quantitative timber volume estimation over large areas. The intensive use of remote sensing technology (Landsat-TM-data, IRC and Black and White aerial sampling design for the stratification. Die folgenden Ausfuehrungen behandeln den Aspekt der Holzvorratserfassung im INDO-FRG Cooperation Projekt, Teilprojekt "zivile Fernerkundung".
