Aerial photography has been used in the latest years by some Regions and Provinces of the eastern Alps to produce Maps of Possible Location of Avalanches (CLPV), using the methodology proposed by the National Geographic Institute of Frances. Moreover aerial photo and its interpretation has been used recently in Italy to make quick maps of the areas interested by avalanches, without the ground truth considered by the french methodology, but only with some investigations for cheking the "keys" of photointerpretation; those maps are mainly usefull to have in short time knowledge of location and density of avalanches. Afterwards these maps could be the usefulness that aerial photography can have in the study of management of a sky dystrict, providing a synoptic view of the environmental paramenters of the land as vegetation, morphology, roads etc.
