The present report takes stock of the creation of the Map of Probable Location of Avalanches (C.L.P.V.) on behalf of the Regions in the Alpine area. In addition to the examination of its current state and the programmes of individual Regions in this field, there will also be included some considerations on the necessity that these cartographic documents serve as an informative tool for those who are preparing to plan or organise assistance in mountain territories. Final considerations concern the problem of moving from one informative tool (CLPV) to a planning document (maps of exposed zones).
