The share of the oak in Slovene forest preserves is presented. In potential natural growing sites of oak there are almost 30 % of these objects as to the number of forest preserves but their total share in the preserved area only amounts to 10 %. In Slovenia, there is also an oak forest preserve with the characteristics of the primeval forest. This is the Krakovo primeval forest, in which the oak prevails.
